"This camera is relatively light in weight yet high in quality and features. The 14 MP resolution yields excellent detail in enlargements up to 11x14. (I haven't done anything larger at this time.) It is very user-friendly and requires no special skill to operate. The included manual is well-written and easy to follow. And, if there ever was a question or problem, Kodak's support is second to none.Overall performance is on a par with big name cameras costing much, much more. I cannot think of a single "con" to include in this review."

My second digital, Worth every penny

Pros: manual settings, image stabilization, ability to use in low light situations, hd video with sound, price
"This is my second Digital camera I have purchased, I originally bought a CD33 back in 2005. I believe I found exactly the features, Quality, ease of use, that I have been wishing for since 2005 and for a price exactly the same as I paid for the CD33 back in 2005 which is amazing due to the Z1485 IS is 100 times better then the CD33 in my opinion. I love the IS feature as I was always causing pictures to blur with my old camera. I am stoked about using the Manual mode and being able to set the shutter speed to create the streaked pictures I have seen before when taking pictures of traffic or other moving objects with lights at night. I am also very impressed with the features that enable the user to actually use and create quality pictures in low light situation.
I have found that I am in a low light situation 80% of the time or greater when I am attempting to capture a quality photo and I have had to either deal with poor pictures or not been able to get any photo so I am very pleased to see this issue resolved with quite a few options to choose from. I have found that every review that has not been a positive one has been due to users not using the proper settings or not understanding how to properly use the camera and its functions so I look forward to learning the camera and its features to use it to 100% of its ability.
I researched for a month and could not find a camera made with as many features and quality for anyhwere even close to the price of this one."

"I purchased this camera Z1485 because I do scrapbooking and wanted something easy to use. And easy to use it is. I have developed pictures 2 times and they turned out great. The camera also is light and easy to carry. This is not my first digital camera but is certainly easier to use than the other."

"Takes great pictures, easy to download to my computer and print. It uses 2 AA lithium batteries, which are pretty expensive, but they don't last all that long. Overall a good camera for the price."

"My grandfather bought me this camera about two years or so ago, and i have only used it once or twice, because of the battery life, im going through reviews and im still unsure of what kind of rechargeable battery and charger i should buy for this. i love the quality of the photos and video but again with out the batteries i cannot use it. I am very much into photography and my other camera the Kodak easy share C913 recently broke so i need to figure out this battery situation asap!"

"The Z990 is the best digital camera I have owned. Takes great pic's. Love the panarama, close up and manual settings interface. Bought the optional remote, Great feature. Can't wait to become more familiar with all it's features. Can't seem to figure out HDR. Tells me the camera moved even when on a tripod using the remote. It has locked up several times and can not even be turned off. You must open the battery compartment to reset. Heard some about that on line prior to buying. Over all I realy like the camera. Took a great pic of the moon. Fantastic zoom."

Pros: feature rich if it worked properly
Cons: bad quality product
"I bought this camera after researching extensively and found the was the best camera in my price range i came back to Kodak after owning a C170 for 5 years and NEVER having any problems with it. The 1485 is a feature rich camera but i have many problems with the camera saving pictures and video to the SD card mainly video i would use the camera to later find on a review of the photos and video that the video and or the photos were not saved properly and received an "unrecognized file format" error message this is after trying several different speed class 10 sdhc cards ( Kodak suggests class 4 or 6 ) so speed wasn't the issue the camera always took a long time to save photos from the start and sometimes i would lose everything on the card when the camera decided the card had to be formatted in the middle of being used."

"Great camera. Plenty of features for myself or more than enough for the novice.
When I am not using my professional equipment I turn to the Z1485 and it performs flawlessly. I pride myself in taking professional pictures and not snapshots and the Z1485 does the trick. It is a little slow on the shutter but after you get used to it the blurred pics don't come as often. Great buy for the price."

"I love the camera when it works takes great pictures...but boy does it eat up batteries. I cannot get this thing to last long once I power it up. And I have been using the recommended lithium batteries...very expensive. And forget about support from Kodak. we have been waiting for a response to our inquiry about this problem for about a month now...bad support ...poor battery life ...I recommend you purchase some other camera because the great pictures are not worth the headaches."

"This was my first digital camera. For starters, I hate the Easyshare software. I just want to plug my camera in and choose where and what to store.
Secondly, the camera goes through new 2 AA batteries in 2-3 horus when left in the camera. I actually started taking the batteries out to make them last longer....not the most enjoyable way to utilize your camera...having to put the batteries in quickly and choose "cancel" every time prompted to set the date AGAIN, only to miss that perfect shot!
From what I'm reading there isn't a good battery alternative, so I'm gonna buy a different camera!"

"I purchased this camera for a vacation in Niagara Falls. I got a lot of great shots. It is easy to use and provides beautiful pictures. You can even do panoramic photos with this camera. The batteries are not easy to find at local stores however, they can be found on the internet. Overall, this is a great camera."

"I have always had a Kodak easy share digital, so I was upgrading the MP. It was a good price and it takes great pictures, but as others have mentioned, the batteries don't last long enough and are quite expensive. And it does not have a view finder for those sunny days. I just figured all Kodak easy shares did have that. I seem to go back to my old easy share more, because of the view finder and battery life... but, still good camera."

Pros: close pics are great when it works, video portion is good, great look, ease of use
Cons: eats batteries, cool temps kill it, slow camera., not good in low light, slower reacting zoom
"Had a Kodak C875 before the 1485 and got it stolen. The 875 was an awesome camera so thought I would upgrade to a highter MP rating. What a mistake. This 1485 EATS EATS EATS batteries, no matter what you use, and won't work in ANY kind of cooler temperature. Very slow to re-act during picture taking. Struggles in low light to get any kind of quality picture. I would suggest steering clear of this camera and moving to your next choice, Kodak or not."

"I have to replace the battery in this camera every 3 weeks. I keep it on its charger, I turn it off when not in use. I don't understand its problem but its too much trouble to keep buying batteries when I don't take more than a couple dozen pictures between batteries."

Pros: you don't have to be a camera expert to use it.
Cons: the batteries don't last long enough
"I LOVE this little camera. It takes great pictures, even better than my SIL's expensive digital. Even if I can't hold still, it takes the picture and is always focused. Even my 94 year old father was able to use it when our Monarch butterflies started coming out of their shells.
I did have a problem with it about 6 months after I bought it, but I sent it to Kodak and they not only fixed it and had it back to me in less than a week, but I got emails on everything they did, plus notification of when they got it, when they started work on it, and when they sent it back. And all I paid for was shipping!! It was great dealing with them.
The only thing I hate is that the batteries don't seem to last very long - and I don't do videos, just pictures. So to solve that problem, I'm buying the recharable battery and the charger."
